Import Berths Text File
Import Berths Text File form
Use the Import Berths Text File form to import the berths.txt file into Yard Editor.
Before you begin:
You must Create or edit a Berth Model (on page 1).
You must have a berths.txt file. To create a berths.txt file, see Create the berths.txt file (on page 1).
Confirm that your berths.txt file includes (at least) these data flags and their appropriate values:
#NAME: This value must match the Quay Id in the Quay form in the topology.
#VERTEXASCEND: value info
#LENGTH: value info
#SPACING: value info
#DELAY: value info
For more information about these flags and values, see Data flags for the berths.txt file (on page 1). To understand why every data flag and value should be included in the berths.txt file, see Consequences of incomplete Berths.txt file configuration (on page 1).
If you import a Berths Text file (berths.txt) file before you create your berth model (on page 1), you must make sure that all required fields in the Berth Model form (on page 1), the Berth form (on page 1), and the Berth User Range form (on page 1) include the required and accurate data. Inaccurate data may result in an error when applying future yard model changes.
To import the berths.txt file:
In the Yard Editor, select Actions Import Berths Text File.
In the Import Berths Text File form, click Browse.
In the File Upload form, locate the text file that you want to upload and click Open. When N4 completes the import, it closes the form.
In the Berth Model form (on page 1), review the berth model.
Set the Linear Origin value to indicate on what side the linear measurement of the quay starts.
Verify that any Divisions defined in berths.txt appear as berth ranges on the Berth Ranges tab (on page 1).
Open any defined berth ranges in the Berth User Range form (on page 1) and review the information for accuracy. Provide Sequence (if it is missing) and a Code (a short name) for Yard Editor to use in the yard map. The code must be the same as the code used in the berths.txt file.
Next step(s):
Continue with step 4 in the Set up your Berth (on page 1) procedure.
